August can be a funny month: swallowed whole by the school holidays, with overriding childcare duties, or at least juggling, planning and checking, if you’re a parent. For some businesses it’s the busiest time of the year (some literally making hay while the sun shines!), for others, a fallow or difficult period juggling competing staff leave, trading and supplier downtime.
