How Do Umbrella Solutions Work?
A typical umbrella employee is usually working on assignments of less than six months. They’re often first-time contractors, especially those who aren’t sure whether contracting will be their future long-term.
There are also some industry sectors which are better suited to umbrella solutions.
The biggest benefit to an umbrella solution is to make receiving payment, handling tax and National Insurance contributions much simpler, without your having to maintain calculations or set aside deductions yourself. The flow diagram to the right shows the full process.
