When I joined ICS in 2013 I was looking for a new challenge, and with no previous experience in contractor accounting, it was exactly that! Every day offers new challenges: I could be researching new legislation, completing an audit, assisting others in the business, or reviewing internal processes. It’s been great to see the company grow from strength to strength, and how central compliance has become in this: I love proactively supporting our agencies preparing for significant changes. Working part time, split between different offices and home, I enjoy working in the historic centre of Lancaster one day and looking out over beautiful countryside in Staveley the next. People might not know I used to be a dancer, and even danced for the Queen! Now my interests are more family-orientated, a perfect weekend includes taking our miniature dachshund for a long country walk with my son, partner and family, followed by a roast dinner!
